England’s Lily May Humphreys received a confidence boost ahead of the Big Green Egg Open after she sealed her maiden professional win last week.

Rosendaelsche Golf Club, which is a GEO Certified Course, plays host to the sixth LET tournament of the season and welcomes a field of 126 players from 29 countries.

The €200,000 event will see individuals compete in a 72-hole stroke-play format with a cut to 60 professionals and ties after the second round.

Six Dutch golfers will relish the opportunity to play in a tournament in their homeland including Pasqualle Coffa, who recorded her best-ever LET result at the 2021 Jabra Ladies Open where she finished T12.

Humphreys comes into the tournament fresh off the back of winning the Golf Flanders LETAS Trophy in Belgium last week.

The 19-year-old was part of Team Europe at the 2019 PING Junior Solheim Cup and turned professional at the start of June.

In just her third professional start and first on the LET Access Series, Humphreys secured a six-shot victory at Rinkven International Golf Club shooting a 66 in the final round.

Having sealed her maiden professional win, Humphreys says it has bolstered her belief ahead of the next couple of weeks on the LET.

“It feels amazing to have my first win as a professional and hopefully it is the first of many. It is nice to play really well and get a win and it has really boosted my confidence ahead of the next couple of weeks on the LET,” she said.

“It’s nice to go into the Big Green Egg with a bit of form and confidence, hopefully it will go well. Last week’s course was quite tight, and my strategy was to try and keep the ball in play off the tee. With a similar course this week, hopefully I will get my driver going and keep the ball in play.”

It is another stacked field this week led by last season’s Race to Costa del Sol champion Emily Kristine Pedersen, who returns for her second LET event of the year.

Lee-Anne Pace, who won the opening event of the 2021 LET season – the Investec SA Women’s Open, heads into the tournament after finishing T11 at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

While Ladies Italian Open champion Lucie Malchirand and the winner in Czechia last week, Atthaya Thitikul, are both in the field too.
